The Sabanci University Centre of Excellence in European Studies (SUCEES) is granted a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence grant from the European Commission in 2011. The SUCEES organizes seminars, workshops in the area of European studies, coordinates teaching activities in European studies at Sabanci University. In addition, the SUCEES fosters research related to European studies. The master of European studies program and the doctoral work related to European studies is also monitored by the centre.

First Graduate Student Workshop on the European Union and New Global Dynamics organized by the Sabanci University Jean Monnet Center of Excellence (SUCEES), June 1-2 2012. Application Deadline March 30, 2012. The final draft of the papers are due on May 12, 2012.

Jean Monnet Curriculum Workshop organized by Jean Monnet chairs Ahmet Evin and Meltem Müftüler-Baç, Sabanci University, February 16-17, 2012.
Radboud Honors Academy Workshop, "One European Political Identity", hosted by SUCEES, Sabanci University, held on January 23-28 2012 in Istanbul.
Workshop titled "Turkey and EU Enlargement:Prospects and Policies" held at the Centre of Enlargement, Central European University, on January 12-13, 2012 in Budapest. The SUCEES members presented their papers under the CEU-Sabanci joint project "Reclaiming Impetus for Turkey-EU convergence".
On April 22-24, a group of Master of European Studies students along with Pols PhD and MA students visited Brussels and held meetings with officials from the European Commission and the European Parliament. Faculty members, from Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Brooke Luetgert, Mustafa Halit Tagma and Emre Hatipoglu attended these meetings with the students. The Brussels study visit was a teaching and research activity supported by the Sabanci University Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in European Studies under Meltem Muftuler-Bac's supervision.
